Android 3.0 Honeycomb ported to Nexus One

Android 3.0 Honeycomb ported to Nexus One

First port of the tablet-only Honeycomb still leaves Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and audio

Google showed off Android 3.0 Honeycomb as a tablet-only OS which brings a couple of nifty updates along with UI refresh. XDA Developer bypass23 along with other Android platform enthusiasts successfully ported the tablet-only OS Honeycomb to the Nexus One. However, the port isn't fully functional as the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Audio features need a bit tweaking to work.

It has been reported that the next Android 2.4 Ice Cream update combines features from Gingerbread and Honeycomb. But now, with Honeycomb ported on the Nexus One, we surely hope this project takes off and doesn't halt like few-week novelty.

One has to perform some tricks to get the UI working in landscape orientation. The Honeycomb Alpha SDK ROM carries some modifications like the File Manager form the Cyanogen 7 pre-release Custom Rom, Terminal Emulator, QuickBoot for reboot and has been rooted.

Just in case you are going to try out this ROM on your phone, be warned that it might turn your phone into a telephony-less handset.
