Ovi Browser Beta Arrives for Nokia S40 Phones

Brings support for 85 languages and localized start pages

Nokia has released the beta version of Ovi Browser - its homegrown mobile web browser for the Symbian Series 40 based mobile phones. New Ovi Browser beta is said to be faster, richer and supports 85 languages. The Symbian S40 phones aren't going to be left out from the richer mobile web. The Ovi Browser beta will have localized start pages for India, Russia, Indonesia and China at this moment. You can download the Ovi Browser beta for Symbian S40 phones from Ovi Store .

Sporting a new look, Ovi Browser beta will bring support for over 85 languages so users can check out more localized news and content on their Series S40 handsets. Country specific popular sites like Twitter, Orkut, IMDB, Yahoo, Photobucket and Amazon would be set as the start pages based on the usage patterns of the respective countries.

The Ovi Browser Beta also retains the proxy server feature that boosts faster page loads by using the remote server to pre-process the pages. That is similar to Opera's data compression technology used in Opera Mini web browser.
