BlackBerry Bold 9700 for T-Mobile Gets OS 6 Update

While we tell you of mobile devices from a wide array of different manufacturers many of them are powered either by Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android. However, while much of the handset touting world is making the shift towards one of these two platforms, Research in Motion’s BlackBerry line up is very much alive and well.
Previous versions of the BlackBerry OS platform may seem quite dated when compared to, say, Android 2.3 but RIM is looking to change all of that with frequent updates. The biggest of such updates was the recently released BlackBerry OS 6 update that added things like a WebKit-based browser and more streamlined set up process. Already the update has seen its way to a wide array of different BlackBerry smartphones but there are still some handsets lagging behind.
Luckily, it was just announced that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for T-Mobile will finally be getting the BlackBerry OS 6 update today, more specifically build 6.0.0.448. If you’re wondering why the update has not yet gone live at RIM’s BlackBerry website that’s because it hasn’t but, according to reports, hooking your device to your computer and booting BlackBerry Desktop should let you grab the update.
Have any BlackBerry Bold 9700 users grabbed the update yet? If so, let us know!
