Droid Bionic vs. Motorola Atrix 4G

The Motorola Droid Bionic is already a popular device, even though it hasn’t even been released yet. The smartphone will be one of the first that has been specifically created for Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The Droid Bionic has been getting a lot of coverage lately because it appears to have similar specs to the Motorola Atrix 4G Smartphone, which is offered by AT&T.
Both the Bionic and Atrix will come with a powerful dual-core processor. But the Bionic only has 512 MB of RAM, which pales in comparison to the Atrix 4G’s 1 GB of RAM. The Droid Bionic does offer a slightly larger qHD screen at 4.3 inches (while the Atrix only has 4 inches).
The Droid Bionic also has a more powerful camera than the Atrix. The rear-facing cam for the Droid Bionic is 8 megapixels, but the rear camera for the Atrix is only 5 megapixels. Still, both devices have HD video capabilities, with Motorola promising to offer an update for the Atrix’s current 720p capability so it can record up to 1080p video in the near future. Both smartphones also offer front-facing cameras for video chat.
The Motorola Droid Bionic has not yet had pricing announced for the device with contract, but it will be offered without a contract for $599. The Atrix 4G at AT&T is available for only $199 with a 2 year contract. Because the phones are so similar to one another, it is likely that pricing will be quite similar to get the Droid Bionic on a 2 year contract.
There are pros and cons to each device, but you can’t really go wrong when you have LTE speed available. Actually, you can-4G speeds may hurt battery performance, or at least it has in other devices.
What are your thoughts? How do you think the two phones compare?
