The Nokia 5800 has been retired from active service. After over two years on the front of smartphone fashion and with well over 15 million handset sales, we knew it had to happen sooner or later. That’s right, Nokia is no longer selling the Nokia 5800. Read on to find out more about the Nokia 5800 being retired from service.
Everyone loves the Nokia 5800, the solid design that feels like it survive an all-out assault, to the 3.2-inch touchscreen and knock-out stamina. However, even the most ardent love affair must come to an end. Just ask Charlie Sheen, he’ll tell you it’s hard to give anything up, especially when you’re living with two of them!
How do we know it’s no longer on sale? Well, we’ve been having a poke around the Nokia Online store and noticed that the Nokia 5800 is simply no longer mixing among the other offerings. That’s right; it looks like the old-timer has been stepped down from active service, but what a solid trooper it’s been.

We put a quick call in to Nokia HQ and they confirmed they were no longer going to send the brave little Nokia 5800 out there anymore. Like all great veterans the Nokia 5800 has passed on the torch of truth to some fresher faced and spunkier kids, keen to get out there and show the world how great it is to be a Nokia smartphone.
In the budget corner we’ve the new Nokia C5-03, which we’ve been testing out over the last few weeks and found it bright and easy on-the-eye, while for the more heavy-duty situations, you’ll need to call in the big guns, such as the Nokia C7 and Nokia N8 packing some serious hardware, as well as the Symbian^3 operating system.
