Mobile communications giant Nokia has revealed the yearly wages of CEO Stephen Elop, who joined the company in September last year. Elop’s basic salary runs to 1.05 million euros.
Nokia published the sum in a report submitted to the US Security and Exchange Commission.
Last year, Nokia paid Elop 3.835 million euros. The sum consisted of his salary, bonuses and compensation for lost earnings from his previous employer, Microsoft.
In addition, Elop has the possibility of getting options and share incentives from last year, if Nokia achieves set goals within 3-5 years. These shares and options amount to about 2.5 million euros altogether.
Elop is to receive a second lump sum of 3 million euros next October.
The previous CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo received 7.18 million euros from Nokia last year. The basic salary accounted for just under a million of this sum.
