We do know from the horse’s mouth (that is,
HTC) that their 7″ Flyer tablet will be on the receiving end of an
Android operating system update during its life cycle, but here is the clincher – do you think it could actually launch and ship with Honeycomb right out of the box? According to Sprint’s HTC Evo View 4G product page, it mentions “Android 3.0 just for tablets”, although there wasn’t anything else said about it
shipping with Gingerbread right from the get go. Of course, this isn’t too much to ask if it were to be released by summer should it be a plain Honeycomb port that is found on the Motorola Xoom, but knowing HTC and their intention to include their special
Sense interface as well as Scribe (pen input) software, it might take a
wee bit longer than expected, maybe even in a Gingerbread update after the tablet is released.
