Motorola rugged Android tablet incoming

Features suggest this is a tablet worth waiting for.
Motorola is hard at work on a new rugged Android tablet, aimed squarely at business types. The new slate, which is yet to be named, promises to be the first enterprise-focused Android tab when it hits shelves.
The rugged tablet is currently in beta testing according to an anonymous insider at Moto. Like Moto’s Defy, it promises to be dust and water resistant, capable of working in extreme temperatures and will even kick on after a four foot drop.

Under the hood, you’ll find 1GB of RAM, a 1GHz processor, 8GB of storage, Bluetooth and n standard Wi-Fi with a 7-inch, 1024x600 screen up top. Android Gingerbread is the OS of choice, but that could change seeing as the tablet is currently only in beta testing.

Whether this hardcore tablet will convince clumsy workers to ditch their PC laptops remains to be seen. But it’s great to see Moto starting to look beyond the Xoom already.
