An environmentally friendly smartphone, the Samsung Replenish is driven by Android Froyo and powered by a 600MHz processor, it features a 2.8-inch 240×320 QVGA display. A touch QWERTY keyboard with a 2MP digital camera and video recorder compliment it nicely. A MicroSD slot is on the side that allows up to 32GB of memory. All this and more for those people who want top technology in an earth friendly device.

The casing is made out of recyclable material. A solar charger is sold separately to complete and enhance the eco-friendly theme. The customer can even recycle their old phone via a postage-paid envelope.

“We are excited to expand our portfolio of eco-friendly devices to now include the Samsung Replenish with Sprint, Samsung’s first Android-powered eco-friendly phone, and the Samsung Restore with Virgin Mobile,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Telecommunications America. “Both the Replenish and Restore offer an impressive feature set with hardware made from recycled materials and eco-centric2 packaging, giving customers the option to have an eco-friendly phone without having to compromise features and functionality.”

The Samsung Replenish is capable of Wi-Fi and GPS, it will be available in either Onyx Black, Artic Blue, or Raspberry Pink (in June). Customers will also be able to access the Green ID pack, via subscription to Sprint’s Everything Data plan, that will provide content to live green, shop green, recycle and more.
Other access provided by the Green ID pack includes software from Treehugger.com, Earth911.com, and the National Audubon Society. Sprint will forgo the premium data add-on charge for Samsung Replenish customers, making the purchase of the earth friendly smartphone an easy decision to make.

Sprint and Samsung previously collaborated in making the country’s first eco-friendly smartphone the Samsung Reclaim, which was made from corn-based bioplastic. Samsung’s Mobile Take Back Program™ allows customers to have their old smartphones properly disposed of for free.
