Compaq Presario CQ57-307TU
Celeron in a 2nd Gen Core i3 world
About the Compaq Presario CQ57-307TU - (Price $499.00)
This basic notebook has a very low-end processor yet costs the same as alternatives with 2nd Gen Intel Core i3s.
Although the 15.6in Compaq Presario CQ57-307TU can handle simpler programs well enough, for $499 it costs as much as a basic notebook with a 2nd Gen Intel Core i3. Even with a heavy discount the 307TU will struggle to compete with the alternatives.
An Intel Celeron B800 (1.5GHz) processor is very low power, but for productivity applications and simpler programs it’ll do just fine. The 2GB of RAM doesn’t really make multi-tasking possible, but it does help the 307TU’s overall performance.
The 500GB hard disk drive is fair for the price, but this merely puts it on par with other basic notebooks that cost the same and have better processors. Unfortunately the 307TU simply isn’t very competitive.

This is an average, notebook, with not a great deal to recommend it but on show-stopper downsides either.
