Motorola Solutions Inc. said Wednesday that Chinese antitrust regulators extended the review period for the sale of the company's networks business to Nokia Siemens Networks for up to 60 days more.
Motorola Solutions is one of the two companies to emerge from the January split of Motorola. Solutions makes products for government agencies and large businesses, including police radios and barcode scanners. Motorola Mobility Inc., the other new entity, makes cell phones.
As part of the split, Motorola announced it would sell its cellular network equipment division to the Finnish-German joint venture Nokia Siemens Networks for $1.2 billion. As of January, Motorola indicated the deal was expected to close by early April, but the announcement Wednesday points to a longer time.
Motorola Solutions said it will continue to work with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce to get the transaction approved.
Shares of Motorola Solutions slipped 35 cents to $41.24 in afternoon trading.
